BIT, Wardha Students Shine at WITchar-24 National Level Technical Symposium

15 March 24, Pune: In a remarkable display of innovation and technical prowess, Saurabh Shrivas and Nidhi Rathod, second-year students of Electrical Engineering at Bajaj Institute of Technology (BIT), have clinched the coveted 1st Prize at WITchar-24, a prestigious National Level Technical Symposium organized by Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur. The duo’s victory highlights BIT’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering research in the field of engineering.

WITchar-24, renowned for its platform that promotes innovative solutions to real-world challenges, witnessed participation from over 90 teams representing institutions from across India. The symposium featured two major competitions: Innoverse – Problem Solver and Project Competition, spanning various themes aimed at addressing practical problems in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and energy management. The themes, categorized into four groups catering to different branches of engineering, required participants to present novel ideas to tackle pressing issues in their respective domains.

Saurabh Shrivas and Nidhi Rathod presented the concept of a Smart Automatic Street Light, which garnered widespread acclaim from the judging panel and fellow participants. Dr. L N Rao and Dr. Rahul Somalwar, both working as professor at BIT, played a crucial role in mentoring and guiding Saurabh and Nidhi throughout the development of their project.

Saurabh Shrivas and Nidhi Rathod were awarded a trophy, certificates, and a cash prize. Chairman of Shiksha Mandal Shri Sanjay Bhargava, Principal of BIT Dr. Narendra Kanhe and Head of Electrical Engineering Department Dr. Harshit Dalvi congratulated the students.
